Community Lunches

NordiCHI 2026 serves daily on-site lunches for all conference attendees

To support community members – both old and new – to connect with other attendees, there will be themed Community Lunches. These are informal gatherings over lunch, intended for anyone who would like an extra boost to meeting new people and discussing shared topics of interest.

Where: In Alma, a room located by the lunch restaurant Mathilda (Tervahovi building, University of Vaasa, 1st floor). The room will be organised to fit six mini-gatherings, each with its own topic and a table leader who will lightly facilitate the encounter. Specific themes and table leaders will be announced ahead of the lunch. The information will be available in Alma as well as ahead of time by the registration desk.

When: Each day of the main conference, Monday through Wednesday, at 12:00-13:30. You can simply head to Alma once you have picked up your lunch tray and then choose a table of interest. Seats are available on a first come first served basis.

Would you like to lead a discussion? Next to pre-planned themes, there will be at least two open slots each day that conference attendees are welcomed to claim! If you would like to propose a theme and serve as a table leader, you can sign up at the registration desk.

Questions? Please get in touch with our Newcomers’ Chairs if you have questions or ideas.
