Welcome to NordiCHI 2026: Pulse – exploring the energy that drives us!
We are happy to announce the 2nd Call for Submissions for NordiCHI 2026, organized in Vaasa, Finland, 3-7 October 2026.
We invite you to participate in one of the key international conferences in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), bringing the community together from a wide range of perspectives, from theoretical and practical insights to creative explorations. Professor Yvonne Rogers, Professor Mattia Thibault, and Senior Designer and Deputy Professor Pontus Wärnestål will deliver the keynote addresses at the conference.
We call for submissions to research papers, critiques, and late-breaking work, as well as submission for arts-based approaches session that integrates creative expression with HCI research, and industry sessions that connects practitioners with researchers to share practical insights. We are also happy to invite contributions to panels, workshops, tutorials, demos, and doctoral consortium contributions.
Proceedings of the conference will be published in the ACM Digital Library within its International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS).
Our aim is for NordiCHI 2026 to offer a platform to engage in state-of-the-art discussions that propel HCI forward. Therefore, we have chosen Pulse – exploring the energy that drives us, as the conference theme, representing the dynamic highs and calm lows of life, keeping us thriving. Vaasa is known for both its vibrant energy industry as the Nordic energy cluster and the tranquility of its surrounding nature and UNESCO World Heritage site. Thus, it serves as the perfect backdrop for exploring the elements of life in the coming ages of HCI.
