The first phase of the auditoriums’ renovation is done

The auditoriums Levón and Wolff were renovated last summer. The first of two phases of the renovation is ready and the premises were turned over for use on week 40.

The renovations of the auditoriums are a separate part from the rest of the campus since the renovations had to be done in the summertime. The halls were renovated with respect to the previous architect. The aesthetic changes were controlled but the usage is improved due to changes.

The renovations of Levón were divided into two summers since there was a lot to do and the premise needed to stay in use all semester. The first phase of the renovation is now completed. The floors and benches will be renovated next summer, after which Levón is ready. The renovations of Wolff were fully completed, only some changes to the presenting technology need to be made.

Different stakeholders were included in the planning of the auditoriums; students, teachers, and other staff. A remarkable improvement in both halls regards accessibility, in which we had help from experts by experience. A list of changes made is down below.

  • The lighting was redone and added
  • Improved accessibility: 
    • Button-automated doors on both floors
    • A wheelchair ramp to the platform
    • Rails on all stair sides
    • Hight-adjustable sets
  • A stage platform in front of the hall
    • It is 14 cm high
    • There are ramps on both sides of the platform
  • Fully renewed presentation technology 
    • A possibility to two picture sources
    • A digital drawing board
    • A steering panel to adjust lighting
    • A document camera
    • Cameras and microphones usable in distance connections
    • High-quality audio system
  • Enhanced acoustics
  • Surfaces were painted

  • The lighting was redone and added
  • Improved accessibility
    • Button-automated doors
    • Rails on all stair sides
    • Hight-adjustable sets
  • The seats were restored and repaired by hand
    • the seats were formed ergonomically 
  • New tables 
    • A quiet scissor-like mechanism
