Vaasa University Foundation (in Finnish Vaasan yliopistosäätiö, formerly Vaasan Kauppakorkeakoulun Säätiö) was established in 1961. The foundation supports the development of the University of Vaasa as well as scientific research and teaching.

The University Foundation accepts donations, including bequests, for supporting research and education.

The Foundation financially assists the development and expansion of the University of Vaasa, supports basic and applied research at the university through grants and awards travel grants and other grants for students and staff.

However, trusts close to universities cannot themselves participate in a matched funding fundraising campaign for universities.
