The 6^th Vaasa Banking Research Workshop

The 6^th Vaasa Banking Research Workshop will take place on September 18, 2025, at Hanken School of Economics in Vaasa, Finland. We cordially invite submissions of completed and early-stage papers addressing different aspects of banking, financial intermediation, and financial stability. Areas of interest include but are not limited to the following topics:

• Financial intermediation and regulation
• Financial stability and economic growth
• Corporate governance of financial institutions
• Sustainability and social responsibility in the banking industry
• Risk management and measurement
• Politics and banking
• Financial innovation and recent banking sector developments

The keynote speaker will be Professor Steven Ongena from the University of Zurich.

The Workshop is organized by the University of Vaasa and Hanken School of Economics. The Workshop will be a one-day event with about 8-10 presentations followed by discussions. All presentations, including the keynote speech, will be fully on-site with no option to participate remotely.

Authors interested in presenting their research in-person at the Workshop should submit their papers via this submission form. The deadline for submissions is June 15, 2025. All authors will be notified about the status of their submissions by the end of June. Hotel accommodation in Vaasa for the presenting authors will be provided by the organizers. There is no Workshop participation fee.
