Chowdhury<br \/>\nUniversity of North Carolina, USA<\/p>\n<p><strong>Badrul Chowdhury<\/strong> is a Professor in Electrical &amp; Computer Engineering with joint appointment in Systems Engineering &amp; Engineering Management at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, and his B.S degree also in Electrical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Chowdhury\u2019s research interests are in power system modeling, analysis, control and economics; integration of renewable and distributed energy resources including wind electric conversion systems, solar PV, and energy storage in a smart grid environment; microgrid control and optimization.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently serving as the Assistant Director of the Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC) at UNCC, and Site Director for the Center for Advanced Power Engineering Research (CAPER).<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Chowdhury is the Chair of the Charlotte Chapter of IEEE PES. He is the Chair of the PES Photovoltaics Working Group and past chair of the PES University Education subcommittee.
