Seminar: Sustainability Reporting

You are most welcome to the seminar with a focus on Sustainability Reporting. In this seminar, we have a research presentation from Ly Pham and a talk by Tommi Lehtonen.

Ly Pham: Biodiversity Risk Disclosures in the Annual Reports of U.S. Listed Firms

Biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse are among the biggest threats facing humanity in the next decade (EU). While this is an environmental challenge, it also has economic and corporate dimensions; understanding how firms exposed to biodiversity risk disclose this information helps assess whether these risks are being recognized and communicated to stakeholders. This study examines whether firms with greater biodiversity risk exposure provide more extensive biodiversity risk disclosures, shedding light on how biodiversity-related risks are recognized and communicated by U.S. firms.

Bio

Ly Pham is a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Accounting and Finance, University of Vaasa. Her research examines how financial and non-financial firms disclose emissions, climate-related information, and biodiversity risks, as well as the firm- and institutional-level factors shaping these disclosures.
