Antti Mäenpää: “Local approach in energy transitions: Presenting some discoveries from PEAK-project”
Antti is an assistant professor in regional development and sustainability transitions at the school of Management. His research interests include regional innovation activities & cooperation, innovation policies, innovation systems, smart specialisation, green innovations, helix theories & related measurements. At the SBS seminar, Antti will be presenting some insights from the ongoing PEAK project which focuses on the development of a regional low-carbon energy system at the Ostrobothnia region.
Shah Rukh Shakeel: “Evaluating Energy Justice: An Analysis of Pakistan’s Energy Policy Framework”
Shah Rukh is an assistant professor at the school of Marketing. His research focuses on energy transitions and the role of digital technologies, evolving markets, and consumer behaviour in shaping them. He explores how technology adoption, social acceptance, and transformative marketing practices influence energy markets, support energy system development, and play a role in advancing these transitions. At the SBS seminar, Shah Rukh will present his early stage work on Pakistan’s energy transition policy.
The seminar is organised by the Sustainable Business and Society thematic group at the University of Vaasa. This thematic group is multidisciplinary. The goal of the group is to bring together researchers from the University of Vaasa around the theme of sustainability, and to enhance the quality and impact of research through collegial collaboration.
