Late-Breaking Works may include early research ideas and technical work, tentative findings or short self-contained studies, provocations and visions of future work as well as theoretical or methodological discussions arising from ongoing work.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We welcome a broad range of submissions around a diversity of topics and contribution types:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">An original technology, technique or design in the early stages, and\/or with or without an evaluation.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Selected results from ongoing studies at various levels of analysis.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Early stages of research, including reflections, important implications and\/or (methodological) considerations.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Novel discussions and\/or analysis of existing or ongoing work that offer a fresh perspective.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Open work that invites feedback or community engagement on the next steps, implications for the research, its applicability and\/or novel approaches to analysis, and collaborations.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submission Instructions and Schedule<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submissions should be fully anonymized.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submissions can be up to 5000 words long (excluding references) in the ACM standard single-column format template \u2013 see <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.uwasa.fi\/nordichi2026\/nordichi-2026\/submit\/submission-guidelines\/\">submission guidelines<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submissions should be as close to publication-ready as possible, since authors will have limited time to make changes after acceptance. Papers that require major revisions may not be accepted.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Important Dates<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> (Anywhere on Earth)<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submission deadline: May 18th, 2026<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Author notification: June 30th, 2026<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Camera-ready deadline: August 7<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, 2026<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Selection Process<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">LBW submissions undergo double-blind peer-review by a selected committee and will be discussed by the committee to constitute the program. Given the shorter timeline the submissions will only receive short feedback. The criteria for evaluations are as follows:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Contribution to NordiCHI 2026: Will this research stimulate interesting conversations and feedback among NordiCHI attendees? Is there a compelling reason for this work to be LBW and not a full research contribution this year or later?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Significance: How important is the problem, question or topic the LBW examines? Is there an audience at NordiCHI 2026 that would find this relevant and\/or engaging?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Originality: How does this work relate to previous work and discussions within the area? Does it offer a novel contribution or compelling alternative perspective?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Validity: How well are the chosen methods described and justified in the submission?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Written presentation: How clear, understandable, and targeted is the writing?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Presentation Format and Publication<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Accepted LBW will be presented as posters during the NordiCHI 2026 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">conference<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Details regarding presentation and printing will be provided with the acceptance notification. At least one author of each accepted submission must register for the NordiCHI 2026 conference and present the poster. The accepted LBW will be available in the ACM Digital Library as part of the NordiCHI adjunct proceedings.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>ACM Open<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Content in this track will be published under ACM Open Access as an \u201cExtended Abstract\u201d article type. Extended Abstract article types will not be charged an Article Processing Charge (APC) for open access.
