NordiCHI 2026 welcomes submissions to the doctoral consortium from PhD students in the field of Human-Computer Interaction.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We aim to accept 10-12 students, for a full day of activity in parallel with courses and workshops as pre-conference activities on Saturday 3<\/span>rd<\/span> October, 2026. The doctoral consortium will in-person only (not hybrid).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the day, the students will get feedback on their projects and a chance to discuss achievements and plans with each other and the organizers. The consortium is also an opportunity for students to get to know other junior researchers in the same stage of their academic process.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Author notification: June 30th, 2026.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Submission<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

    Students will be accepted based on a four-page description of their research project and its status, a two-page resume (CV) and a letter of recommendation from the supervisor. Submit these documents as separate files in the same email. In the four-page research project description, use the single-column ACM conference paper template (using Word, LaTeX or Overleaf).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The research project description should follow the following structure:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Title of your thesis<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • An abstract about your thesis<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Short biography about yourself, description of the stage of your PhD process, and paragraph articulating what you hope to gain from attending the doctoral consortium.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Presentation of PhD research: Motivation, research question(s), related research, methods\/studies, results, discussion and references (for example).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The submissions should not be anonymised. They must be in PDF format and use the following file names: yoursurname_description.pdf, yoursurname_cv.pdf, and yoursurname_letter.pdf.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Selection process<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

      The selection process is juried and carried out by the consortium chairs. The submissions are reviewed based on research quality and benefit, taking into account gender and geography balance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Before the consortium<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

      The submissions of the accepted students will be shared among the participants before the conference. They will not be shared publicly. Students accepted will be asked to read at least two other submissions, and should be prepared to give feedback to those students during the consortium.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
