Demos provide a space to feel the pulse of innovation, letting attendees experience the energy that drives and connects ideas, beings, and environments.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We welcome contributions that embody the conference theme \u201c<em>Pulse \u2013 exploring the energy that drives us<\/em>\u201d,\u00a0whether by visualizing, sensing, amplifying, or reimagining the rhythms that connect humans, technologies, and environments. Submissions may explore the biological, digital, ecological, or social dimensions of\u00a0technology\u00a0examining how\u00a0systems perceive, respond,\u00a0interact\u00a0and\u00a0pulsate. This includes perspectives that highlight sensory variation,\u00a0cognitive diversity,\u00a0and\u00a0more-than-human connections\u00a0across species and systems, inviting us to reconsider what it means to be attuned to the world\u2019s pulse.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submission Instructions and Schedule<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Demos may take many forms:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Experimental prototypes or artistic installations<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Research systems and tangible interfaces<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Embodied or performative experiences<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Data-driven\u00a0or sensor-enabled explorations<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Industrial or design-led tools<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We encourage submissions from academia, industry, independent creators, artists, and designers, as well as from collectives working across disciplines. Whether your\u00a0work\u00a0beats with human curiosity, machine intelligence, or the quiet vitality of other living systems \u2014 we invite you to make its pulse felt in Vaasa.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Important Dates<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(Anywhere on Earth)<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submission Deadline:<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">May\u00a018, 2026<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Notification of Acceptance:<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">June\u00a030, 2026<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Camera-ready Deadline:<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">August\u00a07, 2026<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submissions<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0demo submission should include:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">an extended abstract paper (2 pages max excluding references) in the ACM standard single-column format (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.uwasa.fi\/nordichi2026\/nordichi-2026\/submit\/submission-guidelines\/\"><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">templates can be found here<\/span><\/i><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">). It should be self-contained and clearly describe the novelty and distinguishing ideas of your project (for publication).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a still\u00a0image\u00a0representing\u00a0your work of at least 1500 x 1200\u00a0px\u00a0(for publication).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a supplementary file with a setup description, e.g., a textual description and\/or a (mock-up) photo of the demonstration showing the envisioned setup (demo hardware components, tables, chairs, lights, and other equipment). Label and annotate the image(s) so organizers get a good understanding of your setup.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">an accompanying video no longer than three minutes (optional but highly recommended for dissemination purposes).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submissions should <strong>NOT<\/strong> be\u00a0anonymised<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All materials must be\u00a0submitted\u00a0electronically to PCS by the deadline. See\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.uwasa.fi\/nordichi2026\/nordichi-2026\/submit\/submission-guidelines\/\">Submission Guidelines<\/a> for details on how to\u00a0submit.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Authors will not receive formal feedback on their submission, other than the selection decision.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Selection Process<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The selection process for Demos is\u00a0curated,\u00a0that is, selected by an esteemed committee, but not sent out to external reviewers.\u00a0The curated demo content will be selected from demonstration submissions, accepted papers, as well as projects invited by the demo chairs.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Presentation Format<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Accepted demo presenters are invited to showcase the demos during the NordiCHI 2026 conference. Accepted demo presenters must register for the conference.
