NordiCHI\u00a02026 welcomes proposals for workshops as spaces for debate and co-development of ideas and approaches related to the advancement of research and practice within the field of Human-Computer Interaction.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>Participants prepare in advance to share perspectives, knowledge, and interest in the workshop theme. The outcomes of workshops include heightened sensitivity to\u00a0new issues, joint publications, and research\u00a0programs\u00a0and critical yet friendly feedback on emerging ideas. Often, they\u00a0establish\u00a0or solidify research networks and contribute to community building.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Successful workshop proposals for\u00a0NordiCHI\u00a02026 should make full use of the workshop format,<\/span>\u202f<\/span>avoiding conference-style paper presentations and\u00a0prioritising\u00a0debate and joint action\u00a0through\u00a0experimental\u00a0and participatory\u00a0formats.<\/span>\u202f\u202f<\/span>Proposals that\u00a0engage with\u00a0other disciplines and traditions,\u00a0as well\u00a0as\u00a0with\u00a0industry, art, activism, and other practices to advance constructive and critical discussions are\u00a0particularly\u00a0welcome.\u00a0Strong\u00a0proposals clearly explain the aim and relevance of the workshop, intended audience, planned activities\u00a0and\u00a0format\u00a0as well as\u00a0expected outcomes and impact for the\u00a0target\u00a0community.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We invite proposals for workshops focusing on all themes related to the field of Human-Computer Interaction.\u00a0In particular, we\u00a0encourage\u00a0workshops\u00a0that engage with\u00a0the conference\u00a0theme:\u00a0<\/span>Pulse \u2013 exploring the energy that drives us<\/span><\/i>.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Workshops\u00a0will\u00a0run for either a half day or a full day, with scheduled morning,\u00a0lunch\u00a0and afternoon breaks, and will\u00a0be held as pre-conference activities on October 3rd and 4th. Accepted workshops should aim to attract 10-25 participants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Practicalities<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Workshops take place in person at\u00a0\u00c5bo\u00a0Akademi\u00a0University\u2019s campus in Vaasa, in\u00a0lecture\u00a0or meeting rooms. The size of the\u00a0allocated\u00a0room is\u00a0determined\u00a0by the number of registered participants.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All rooms are equipped with\u00a0moveable\u00a0tables, chairs, and basic presentation facilities (screen and projection).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A limited number of rooms\u00a0have additional features such as multiple presentation screens or\u00a0ClearTouch\u00a0Smartboards. There is also a so-called black box theater room available. In case you request to use these facilities, please\u00a0indicate\u00a0it on the submission form.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
