NeuroPRISM

NeuroPRISM is a multidisciplinary research initiative that approaches neurodiversity as a strength and a societal resource in education and working life. We study neurodivergent adolescents and adults to understand how educational and work environments can enable the use of individual strengths and support agency, and inclusion. NeuroPRISM generates evidence-based knowledge and shares insights from the lived experiences of neurodivergent individuals. We combine field observations, experimental studies, and qualitative research to examine pathways that help neurodivergent individuals thrive in education and work. On this site, we share research findings, reports, and early-stage insights, including work in progress.

NeuroPRISM in practice

The NeuroPRISM team works with educational institutions and workplaces through training, collaborative development, and one-to-one coaching. We work closely with higher education students and have contributed to making learning environments more accessible, including the development of sensory-friendly spaces at the University of Vaasa, such as a sensory-friendly room and a dark room for sensory regulation. We offer one-to-one consultations for students and organise awareness-raising events. In addition, NeuroPRISM provides talks, workshops, and tailored training for companies and institutions.

Insight

We share up-to-date knowledge about neurodiversity in higher education and workplaces. We write about our early research findings in the blog and use this work to maintain and develop practical guidance in the handbook. The handbook provides concrete tips to support more inclusive learning and work environments.
