{"id":1719,"date":"2025-07-20T19:18:50","date_gmt":"2025-07-20T16:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.uwasa.fi\/mfjuva\/?page_id=1719"},"modified":"2025-07-20T19:18:55","modified_gmt":"2025-07-20T16:18:55","slug":"accelerated-review-process-arp-option","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.uwasa.fi\/mfjuva\/accelerated-review-process-arp-option\/","title":{"rendered":"Accelerated Review Process (ARP) Option"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This special submission option will apply in the following two cases:<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Case 1: Reject after R&amp;R at another journal (has to be from an AJG 3* or better journal)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The paper\u00a0had been revised and resubmitted after an R&amp;R decision (at another journal).<\/li>\n<li>Rejected because one reviewer is not satisfied while another (other) reviewer(s) is(are).<\/li>\n<li>Could also be rejected for brand new issues that were raised after the first round.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Case 2: Excessive or unhelpful reviewer demands after R&amp;R at another journal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Reviewers request substantial changes that the authors feel would worsen the paper or add little value.<\/li>\n<li>It is either explicitly stated \u2014 or assumed \u2014 that all reviewer comments must be fully addressed in some form to proceed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ARP applies only to papers that received a Revise &amp; Resubmit (R&amp;R) from journals list in AJG ranking 2024 as 3*, 4 and 4* journals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ARP can only be used for the\u00a0<em>most recent<\/em>\u00a0journal where the paper was submitted.\n<ul>\n<li>Example: If rejected late at Journal A, then submitted and rejected at Journal B, ARP cannot be used with reports from Journal A.<\/li>\n<li>If the paper receives an R&amp;R at Journal B, ARP can be used with reports from Journal B.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>A submission fee of \u20ac200 applies.<\/li>\n<li>Since no external referees are involved, decisions are expected within 2-4 weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>During the submission process:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Add a comment to your submission\u00a0<strong>\u201cR&amp;R at Other Journal\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0while sending the paper to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:mfj@uwasa.fi\">mfj@uwasa.fi<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>What to include:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>All referee and editorial reports and decision letters from\u00a0<em>every round<\/em>\u00a0at the previous journal.<\/li>\n<li>The manuscript itself (can be updated since the last decision \u2014 for example, to include improvements you agree with).<\/li>\n<li>A cover letter that clearly states:\n<ul>\n<li>Which reviewer suggestions you plan to address.<\/li>\n<li>Which suggestions you do\u00a0<em>not<\/em>\u00a0plan to address \u2014 with a brief explanation why.<br \/>\n<em>(Case 1: like the appeal letter you wish you could write. Case 2: like the response you wish you could send to the reviewers.)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Submission fee:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>200 euros (higher to compensate the editorial demands)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>What happens next:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The assigned Editor will review the materials \u2014 they will likely consult other Editorial Board members but will not send to new reviewers.<\/p>\n<p>The Editor will then make one of three decisions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Accept as is<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Reject<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Revise and Resubmit<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This special submission option will apply in the following two cases: Case 1: Reject after R&amp;R at another journal (has to be from an AJG 3* or better journal) The paper\u00a0had been revised and resubmitted after an R&amp;R decision (at another journal).
