We received over 90 abstract proposals for the Mevi Days 2026. The working groups are currently reviewing them and will notify applicants and the organizing committee of the accepted abstracts by 12 February 2026 at the latest. The program and registration will be published shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n

Grants of up to EUR 350, awarded by Mevi ry, are still available for doctoral students until 9 February 2026. Applications for grants must be submitted using <\/span>this form.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Abstract call 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mevi-p\u00e4iv\u00e4t or Media and Communication Research Days is the most significant Finnish conference in its field, bringing together researchers, students, teachers, and other media and communication experts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next Mevi-p\u00e4iv\u00e4t will be held in Vaasa, Finland, on May 7\u20138, 2026.<\/b><\/p>\n

The theme for next year is Juuret \u2013 R\u00f6tter \u2013 Roots. Roots symbolize origin, foundation, and continuity, but also growth and change. In the field of media and communication research, roots branch out in many directions: they reach towards historical starting points and traditions, different growth platforms and contexts, new practices of producing and disseminating information, as well as symbiotic connections and rhizomatic experiments. Currently, research focusing on media and communication phenomena is sprouting on many platforms and in many different seedbeds. Despite this diversity, the various branches of the discipline also have a lot in common.<\/span><\/p>\n

You are welcome to send in an abstract proposal to the working groups of Mevi-p\u00e4iv\u00e4t!<\/b><\/p>\n

We are currently inviting abstract submissions to 14 working groups. For each working group, it is specified separately which languages they operate in and accept abstracts in. Six of the working group descriptions can be found in English. They are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n
