Course description<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This course develops students\u2019 basic Spanish vocabulary and grammar and strengthens skills for common everyday situations. Students also become familiar with the cultures and customs of the Spanish-speaking world.<\/p>\n

Content<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Talking about family, hobbies and weekly activities<\/li>\n
  • Describing destinations, weather, seasons and months<\/li>\n
  • Communicating in restaurants, shops and at the airport<\/li>\n
  • Writing simple emails<\/li>\n
  • Conjugating stem-changing verbs<\/li>\n
  • Using gustar and similar verbs<\/li>\n
  • Numbers and question words<\/li>\n
  • Forming and using the present perfect<\/li>\n
  • Using prepositions and expressions of place<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Learning outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n

    After completing the course, students will be able to:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Manage everyday spoken interactions related to work, studies, leisure and travel<\/li>\n
    • Order food and drinks in restaurants<\/li>\n
    • Talk about the weather and understand weather forecasts in Spanish<\/li>\n
    • Communicate with airport staff in Spanish<\/li>\n
    • Write a short email in Spanish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Learning materials<\/strong><\/p>\n

      All learning materials will be available on Moodle.<\/p>\n

      Teaching and learning methods<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Teaching and practice activities will be completed through Moodle.<\/p>\n

      The course is designed for independent online study. Any synchronous online meetings, if required, will be announced separately.<\/p>\n

      Students also have the opportunity to book a Zoom meeting for tutorials.<\/p>\n

      Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Assessment is based on the following:<\/p>\n

      • Video assignments<\/li>\n
      • Selected written assignments<\/li>\n
      • Continuous assessment based on weekly assignments<\/li>\n
      • Completion of final assignments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Grading: According to the host institution\u00b4s practice.<\/p>\n

        To pass, students must submit all required assignments by the stated deadlines.<\/p>\n

        Workload<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Total workload: 81 hours (3 ECTS \u00d7 27 hours). The workload includes independent study, practice activities, submitted assignments.<\/p>\n
