Welcome to the online course <em>Portuguese 1<\/em>, where you will learn how to greet, ask how someone is doing, introduce yourself, and talk about your studies, family, and daily life. You will also learn how to order food and drinks in a caf\u00e9. The course is based on Brazilian Portuguese, but European Portuguese will also be introduced and used occasionally.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Talking about yourself, your studies, family, and daily routines<\/li>\n<li>Ordering in a caf\u00e9<\/li>\n<li>Telephone conversations, arranging meetings<\/li>\n<li>Seasons, days of the week, telling the time<\/li>\n<li>Pronunciation<\/li>\n<li>Alphabet<\/li>\n<li>Gender and number of nouns<\/li>\n<li>Definite and indefinite articles<\/li>\n<li>Personal and possessive pronouns<\/li>\n<li>Forms of address<\/li>\n<li>Conjugation of regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs in the present tense<\/li>\n<li>The verbs <em>ser<\/em>, <em>estar<\/em>, and <em>ter<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The structure <em>ir + infinitive<\/em> to refer to future actions<\/li>\n<li>Numbers 1\u2013100<\/li>\n<li>Question words<\/li>\n<li>Common prepositions and their contractions with articles<\/li>\n<li>Differences between Brazilian and European Portuguese<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After completing this course, you will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Write and pronounce individual words and short sentences understandably<\/li>\n<li>Apply the main rules of Portuguese grammar<\/li>\n<li>Communicate politely in common spoken interaction situations<\/li>\n<li>Introduce yourself and ask simple questions<\/li>\n<li>Talk about daily routines, family, and leisure activities<\/li>\n<li>Order in a caf\u00e9<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Learning Materials<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All learning materials are available on the digital learning platform and through linked sources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teaching and Assessment Methods<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assessment is based on the final exam and submitted written and oral assignments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grading Scale and Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pass\/Fail or 0\u20135, depending on the organizing institution\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<p>The assessment criteria are based on the learning outcomes and implementation methods described above. To receive a passing grade, you must attend online meetings and complete all required tasks successfully and on time. In addition, the final exam must be passed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workload<\/strong><br \/>\nIndependent study<br \/>\nAssignments<br \/>\nOnline meetings<br \/>\nFinal exam<\/p>\n<p>Total: 81 h.
