Course description<\/h2>\n

Course Objectives<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of this course is to learn and practice language skills involving everyday life and basic business situations.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After the course, students will:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • achieve the proficiency of the whole Pinyin system\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • learn basic Chinese business vocabulary and expressions<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • manage superficial conversations in everyday life and the most common business situations<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • be able to read and write common characters seen in business places in Chinese-speaking areas<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Course Content<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          The course prepares students with basic language skills in both common everyday life and simple business situations. <\/span>Learning materials cover for example the following items:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          • getting acquainted with a new person\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
              \n
            • introducing oneself and others<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                \n
              • asking about time, schedule, etc.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                  \n
                • telling about one\u2019s own home, present life situation, friends and foreign language skills<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                    \n
                  • ways of addressing customers and business partners\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                      \n
                    • business companies, positions, rank and business card<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                        \n
                      • business work unit, location and phone number<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        • advanced level understanding and interpreting of complicated Chinese characters\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          All learning materials can be found from the digital learning platform.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                          Teaching and Assessment Methods<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                          The student will learn and practice independently with the help of teaching videos, recordings, texts and various exercises on the learning platform. The student is required to complete independently different learning tasks and assignments, which will be evaluated as well. The course includes voluntary online consulting- and learning sessions, where pronunciation, conversations and character-writing are practiced.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
