Course description<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Content and Course Objectives<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

In this course, you will begin to study Russian from the very basics, i.e., the alphabet. You will become familiar with Russian Cyrillic letters through a variety of exercises and recordings. <\/span>In additions to this, you will learn:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  • To say hello and introduce yourself<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To ask and tell how everything is going in life<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To tell about yourself and your family<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To visit and have conversation in a coffee shop<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To understand the Russian name system<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To have simple phone conversations<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To tell the time and days of the week<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n

      • know the basics of Russian pronunciation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      • speak and write words and simple sentences<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      • get by in the most common language use situations<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Teaching and Assessment Methods<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

        • You will practice independently with texts, recordings, and interactive exercises on the learning platform. Depending on the implementation, the course may include voluntary online lessons.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
        • The assessment is based on:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n
            \n
          • returnable oral and written <\/span>assignments<\/span> are evaluated as passed\/failed<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          • The final exam accounts for 60% of the course grade, while the two intermediate exams account for 40%.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Grading scale and evaluation criteria: <\/span><\/b>Pass\/Fail\u202for 0<\/span>\u2013<\/span>5 depending on the implementation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
