Course description
Course contents and objectives
On this course, you will learn the basics of Swedish for everyday life situations. After finishing the course, you will be able to share the basics about yourself in Swedish, read and write simple texts and discuss topics like family, hobbies, studies, city and transport. You will learn basic grammar structures like pronouns, verbs in present and past tense, nouns and plural forms, word order in main clause, adjectives, and prepositions. The course also includes
- Swedish pronunciation
- greetings, small talk, asking and answering simple questions
- numbers (cardinals and ordinals)
- telling the time, dates and time expressions
- shopping and ordering at a café or restaurant
- sharing opinions
- culture and facts about the Nordic countries.
Study materials: All materials are available in a digital learning environment.
Teaching and Assessment Methods
You will study independently with the help of texts, recordings, videos, and interactive exercises in the learning environment and practice what you have learned in regular online meetings. The evaluation is based on interactive exercises and assignments, as well as an oral exam.
