Transferring Credits

The grades and credits for your KiVANET course are registered with the university that organises the course. Registration for these courses also follows the practices and timetables of the organising university.

Students who have completed a KiVANET course are responsible themselves for the transfer of credits to their home university. It is recommended to transfer the credits soon after completing the course. The exact procedure depends on your home university.

  1. The My Studyinfo service
You can transfer your credits through the “My completed studies” section of My Studyinfo. At present, the section is only available in Finnish and Swedish. To access the service, log in by using your Finnish online banking identification, mobile ID or Citizen Certificate stored on your ID card. On My Studyinfo, you can retrieve your course information and create a link that you can send electronically to your home university.
  2. A transcript of records
If you cannot use My Studyinfo to transfer your credits, you can request a transcript of records that lists the course information from the university that organised your KiVANET course. You can use the transcript to transfer the credits according to the practices of your home university.

If you are not able to transfer your KiVANET credits with either method above, you can seek help by emailing kivanet(at)uef.fi. Please note that the teachers of the courses cannot transfer course credits for students.

The grades and credits for KiVANET language courses are entered into the study register of the university in charge of each course. The registrations take place according to the practices and timetables of each university.

Students who have completed a KiVANET language course are responsible for transferring the credits to their home university study registers. Transferring the credits soon after course completion is recommended. The procedure depends on your home university.
