Courses

In spring 2025, the online language courses listed under the heading Spring 2025 are offered. Course information will be updated if necessary. Please read the instructions below carefully!

  • The courses of the KiVANET network are open and free of charge for students of universities participating in the cooperation network. Check the network members page to see if your own higher education institution is part of the network.
  • The maximum size of the groups is 40 students, and only students from member universities of the KiVANET network can be included in the courses. If there are more than the maximum number of registered people, those who qualify for the course will be drawn, so the speed of registration is not important. The course places in the groups are in relation to the network courses offered by each member university itself.
  • Registration takes place using a separate Webropol form (academic year 2024–2025). Each semester has its own registration form.
  • You can register for a maximum of two KiVANET courses per semester (fall, spring and summer semester). If a student registers for more than two courses in a semester, all his registrations for that semester will be cancelled.
  • Fill out the form carefully. Incomplete or incorrect information may prevent you from entering the course. Incomplete or incorrect registrations are not processed further, because study rights cannot be created with incomplete information.
  • When registering, only use the student email of your own university/polytechnic.
  • Enter your social security number and the rest of it on the form. This is required to create the right to study. Only in those cases where the student does not have a Finnish personal identification number, it is sufficient to enter only the date of birth.
  • We cannot accept late registrations for courses after the end of the registration period. See the FAQ.
  • If necessary, the applicant must find out at his home university the suitability of his studies for his degree.
  • Also take a look at the Student section, where you can find information about studying languages online, the target levels of courses and transfer of performance to your own university.
  • In the FAQ section you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions.
  • All registered participants will be notified of admission to the course by e-mail no later than week 4. Check your spam folder – sometimes the start message can be redirected there!
  • The courses are scheduled between weeks 5 and 22 as indicated in the course descriptions.
  • For technical reasons, course schedules may change from those announced, and in compelling cases, individual courses may have to be canceled or postponed.
