It is located at the heart of Helsinki. It has 24\/7 public transportation to and from the city center. You can also get to Helsinki by ferry from Sweden, Estonia or even Germany.\u00a0Hanken School of Economics is located about 20 kilometers from Helsinki Airport. You can reach Helsinki city center \/ Hanken by train, bus or taxi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Train<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The local trains I &amp; P depart from the\u00a0basement of the terminal. The trains take\u00a0you to the central railway station. You\u00a0need to buy your train ticket (ABC ticket, 4,60\u20ac) from the automat at the\u00a0terminal or from HSL app before entering the train. No\u00a0tickets are sold on the train. You can use\u00a0the same ticket to local transportation, in\u00a0case\u00a0you will\u00a0continue with\u00a0tram\/bus\/metro from the central railway\u00a0station. The train ride to the city center\u00a0takes approx.\u00a0 30 min.<\/p>\n<p>You can find the train schedule <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vr.fi\/en\/railway-stations-and-routes\/commuter-traffic\">h<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vr.fi\/en\/timetables\">ere<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Airport bus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The bus departs from right outside of the terminal every hour and takes you to the city center (e.g., Central Railway Station or Hesperia park). The ride takes about 30 min and costs 6,80\u20ac. Credit cards are accepted in all taxis.<\/p>\n<p>You can book your taxi <a href=\"https:\/\/finnair.rideways.com\/?lang=en-gb&amp;utm_source=finnair&amp;utm_medium=stratpart&amp;utm_campaign=Transferpages\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Arriving by ferry<\/h4>\n<p>Helsinki can be reached by ferry from Sweden (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sales.vikingline.com\/\">Viking Line<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tallinksilja.com\/book-a-cruise\">Tallink Silja Line<\/a>), Estonia (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sales.vikingline.com\/\">Viking Line<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tallinksilja.com\/book-a-cruise\">Tallink Silja Line<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eckeroline.com\/\">Ecker\u00f6 Line<\/a>), Germany (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.finnlines.com\/ferry-trips\">Finnlines<\/a>) and Russia (<a href=\"https:\/\/stpeterline.com\/\">St. Peter Lin<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/stpeterline.com\/\">e<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The public transportation from the harbours is good. To all the other terminals there is only a short tramride from the city center and to the Finnlines terminal you can take metro+bus.<\/p>\n<h4>Getting around in Helsinki<\/h4>\n<p>Helsinki is very walkable and the conference venue is a short walk away from the shops, main sights and many hotels. The public transportation is also well functioning. There are trams, busses, metro, local trains. On Summer time the city bikes are also a great option. You find the journey planner for public transportation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsl.fi\/en\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Helsinki<\/h2>\n<p>Helsinki is a capital with both interesting architecture and beautiful nature just around the corner. The city center is very walkable and the distances are short (from the conference venue: shopping center Kamppi 600m, Helsinki railway station 1km, Stockmann department store 1km 300m, Senate Square 1km 800m.)<\/p>\n<h4>Official travel site of Helsinki: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myhelsinki.fi\/en\">https:\/\/www.myhelsinki.fi\/en<\/a><\/h4>\n<h2>Finland<\/h2>\n<p>Total area of Finland is 338 144 km, making it the\u00a08th largest country in Europe. There are 5.6 million inhabitants, which makes Finland the most sparsely populated country in the\u00a0European Union (69% of the country is forest). There are almost 2 million saunas though.<\/p>\n<p>Finland is often called \u201cthe land of a thousand\u00a0lakes\u201d, as there are 188,000 lakes in\u00a0Finland.\u200b\u200b 10% of Finland is actually water. Finland\u2019s southwest coast\u00a0is also the\u00a0largest\u00a0archipelago\u00a0in\u00a0Europe.\u00a0There\u00a0are\u00a0180\u00a0000\u00a0islands.\u00a0\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n<p>The official languages in Finland are Finnish and Swedish, but most Finns also speak good English. The currency is Euro and card payments are accepted almost everywhere. Hotels and caf\u00e9s have free wifi but very affordable pre-paid data packages can also be bought from kiosks.
