An interactive new media and performance art exhibition

Inspired by the metaphor of the butterfly effect, the exhibition presents a visceral and thought-provoking journey into the entangled dynamics of data, energy consumption, and environmental impact. Through immersive installations, performative media, and interactive technologies, Butterfly blurs the boundaries between art, science, and activism.

Academic programme

Our Academic Program continues to weave together global and local perspectives (“glo-cal”) and fosters a new kind of awareness—one that sees beyond borders and binaries, embracing complexity and interrelation as pathways to ecological wisdom. Butterfly offers both academic insights and public engagement, encouraging visitors to consider:

  • How does digital innovation affect ecosystems in distant geographies?
  • What is the energy cost of our connected lives?

Can art and technology catalyse ecological awareness and action?
