Martin Meyer

Martin Meyer is the principal investigator at the University of Vaasa for this project. He has more than 25 years of experience in international interdisciplinary research; he has managed more than 20 research grants and participated in more than 30 projects. Martin is known for his work on science, technology and innovation as well as the Triple Helix of university-industry-government relations.

Tommi Lehtonen

Tommi Lehtonen is the Director of Responsibility and Ethics at the University of Vaasa. He specialises in ethics, social philosophy, and philosophy of science. His areas of expertise include attitudes in decision-making and choice behaviour; management values and ethics; and sustainability in economic, social, and cultural contexts.  Lehtonen has published widely in philosophical and social scientific journals.

Tuomas Huikkola

Tuomas Huikkola is an Associate Professor (tenure track) in the School of Management at the University of Vaasa. His research work focuses on scrutinizing strategic transformation of established companies, namely business model, capability, identity, and competitive position changes. His research work has been published in journals and academic books such as Technovation, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Service Management, and Journal of Cleaner Production.

Jouni K. Juntunen

Jouni K. Juntunen is a Professor of Innovation Management at the University of Vaasa. His research he examines the development and diffusion of sustainable innovations, particularly from the point of view of users and communities in the energy transition. He has published in several refereed journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Organization Science, Research Policy, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Ecological Economics, and Environmental Research Letters.

Kristian Siikavirta

Kristian Siikavirta (LL.D.) works as a university lecturer in public law at the School of Management at the University of Vaasa. His areas of expertise include public procurement, European state aid rules, European law, and European energy law and policy. He has studied the legal issues of hydrogen economy in the regional hydrogen economy research project 2023–2024.

Shah Rukh Shakeel

Shah Rukh Shakeel holds a PhD in economics and business administration. He has expertise in sustainability marketing, renewable energy technologies, technology adoption and diffusion, business models, consumer behavior, social acceptance, citizen engagement, and energy transition. Dr. Shakeel’s work bridges technological advancements and social dimensions, promoting a comprehensive approach to sustainability solutions and their seamless integration into society.

Mikko Karhu

Mikko Karhu currently works as a university teacher and researcher. He teaches regional studies in the School of Management at the University of Vaasa. His research has focused on the role of utopias and imagination in regional development. As a result, he also has expertise in future studies. Currently, he is also working on a project that examines the impact of new inventions in aviation in South Ostrobothnia (region in Finland).

Inês Peixoto

Inês Peixoto holds a D.Sc. in Management Studies with a thesis on the emergence of the EU biofuels market. Her research work includes understanding strategic, technology, and regulatory change that enables ambitious industry transitions. She takes an organizational theory lens to examine sustainability transitions and phenomena, focusing on risks, temporarily, and innovation. She has published in Academy of Management Discoveries, Journal of Cleaner Production, and edited books.

Tiphaine Delecour

Tiphaine Delecour is a project researcher and coordinator at the University of Vaasa. Her expertise in project work is currently shared within different projects that the University of Vaasa in involved in. Her work for this project mainly focuses on project coordination and supporting researchers in their duties to reach the project’s goals.
